A manuscript evaluation will provide a review of either a completed or partial manuscript. You will receive a detailed letter of strong and weak points in plot, character, tone, argument, etc. Recurring grammatical issues will be pointed out, but not corrected.

A developmental edit will edit for more large-scale improvements at the chapter and comprehensive levels, such as organization and logical flow. For fictional works, a developmental edit will also provide feedback on plot, characterization, and dialogue. Through this service, I can also help develop concepts for unfinished manuscripts.

A substantive edit will edit for improvements at the paragraph and sentence level, such as sentence fluency, word choice, style, and consistency. 

A copyedit will correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, consistency, and, when applicable, cross-references and citations.

A proofread is designed for finished text that has already been copyedited and formatted. A proofread will catch typographical errors and problems with typesetting specifications and page makeup.
